Art is an expression of one's unique creativity. No two people can create the same work of art purely out of their imagination and that's because we each perceive and create art in a unique way.

Art is a beautiful form of self-expression. Your aesthetic may change one day from the other depending on the emotions you feel on a particular day. It’s therefore essential to use this form of self-expression in your home too. Don’t feel tied down when it comes to the décor and furnishing of your home. Create a space that’s both comfortable and visually appealing to you.

Today I’ll be discussing what I consider a reverse engineered way to interior décor. Hope it gives you some ideas for your home!

Letting art pave the way for your home’s interior décor

While most homeowners believe in choosing color themes for their home and furniture pieces and then move onto art, you can also choose to create your home’s décor around works of art. Let art inspire you to create beautiful interiors for your home.

Here are some steps to help you do so

Get inspired

To be able to successfully create your home’s interiors with the help of art and sculptures, you need to be inspired. Visit art galleries and look online for paintings that you find appealing. There will be a few pieces, if not one piece, that will stand out to you.

Once you find a piece you like, give it a few days to see how you feel about it. Since art is so closely linked to emotions, you need to see how you feel about the painting over the span of a few days when you’re probably in a different mood. Does that image spark creativity in you? What emotion does it make you feel? How would you feel about centering your home’s décor around this one work of art?

Once you’re happy with your answers to these questions, it’s time to move forward with decorating your home.

Pick the colors of  your home

There are a few ways you can go with the color scheme of your home. You can choose to make this piece of art the focal point by pairing the walls and furniture in your home, you can work with similar colors of the painting, or choose colors in contrast. Always remember that colors play a big part in how you feel too, so do your research on the colors before finalizing anything.

The final part of completing your home’s interiors is choosing furniture and other décor pieces. While minimalism and modern design are very popular and trendy, don’t forget that your home needs to be comfortable too.
